We Will Remember Her
On the morning of 11th May 1943, 26 women of the ATS were killed when enemy Focke-Wulf fighter planes bombed their quarters in Great Yarmouth.
On May 15th 2022 the WRAC Association unveiled a new plaque at the site where they perished dedicated to their memory, and before the 80th anniversary in 2023, we want to make sure they are also remembered on their local war memorials. Can you help?
Listed below are the women’s names, where they were from and where they are buried. Please send us photos of their gravestones or their names on the local memorial, be it a stone cenotaph, a wooden plaque or a book of remembrance. If you find their names are missing, please send us the information so that we can contact the local/parish council responsible as we work towards ensuring that all these women are forever remembered for their sacrifice.
